Dr. Riley Keeton (they/them) is the face behind Opportunity101. A Kentucky native, Riley has over two decades of professional experience and has been in higher education since 2008. They earned a Doctor of Philosophy in Sociology from the University of Tennessee with specializations in Criminology and Political Economy and in interests in criminal justice, social inequality, public policy, restorative justice, and narrative analysis. Riley has extensive experience educating and mentoring students from diverse populations, and is committed to meeting students where they are in their academic journey. They have also worked with clients in diverse industries including education, science & research, public health, and mental health.

• National Association for College Admission Counseling (NACAC) Core Concepts for Independent Education Consultants certificate

• University of Tennessee professional certificate in Grant Writing

• University of Tennessee professional certificate in Non-profit Management

• Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative (CITI) Social Research certification

Riley is also a parent, a baseball fan, and a meteorite hunter and collector. They currently serve as Secretary/Treasurer of the Global Meteorite Association.
